Today is brought to you by the letter M. Yes I am "merging" a couple of lessons into one blog. I have combined lessons 17 and 32 from my Be Still 52 course that I am trying to catch up on. I also did the first lesson of The Studio course. The theme was "Cuppa". Yesterday was also a fun day of gathering up some new backdrops and props as you can see some in the photos posted today.
For this photo, I did Auto Tone and used Kim's gentle preset with a little tweaking. I was going to pick up a small piece of burlap and Jim said to me just pick up the one in the bag. Well now I have enough to last me forever.
For this photo, I used Auto Tone and Kim's kk_chocolate preset which has become a very popular and well loved preset. I bought a package of glueless laminate flooring for $14 and also a door frame crown moulding. The flooring is actually on a table and I turned the moulding upside down to make it look like a baseboard. The hydrangeas are borrowed from my lovely neighbour. Oh the joys of still life photography.
For this photo, I did an Auto Tone and used kk_chocolate, brought it into PSE12, added a Soft Light layer at 52% and then added Kim's kk_justatouch2 texture, which is one of my favourites. Blend Mode - Multiply at 25%.
These two photos above are from Lesson 17 of the Be Still 52 course "Still Life Family Portraits". The top one tells a little story about my Dad. That was his hat and glasses and photo of his Dad (black & white, top left), also one of my Mom and Dad with my oldest brother many years ago. I remember that red and white suburban well. It was the one that I took off the mirror while driving across an old bridge in Calgary one year.
In the bottom photo was my Mom's recipe box. A friend of mine painted it years ago so it is not in the original state. I scanned one of her recipes that is in her handwriting. My Mom bought me the little girl and vase when she came to visit us in Germany in 1974.
These are just some of the precious things that make up my Still Life Family Portrait. Hope you enjoyed them.
