When I look at my last blog post, I see it was on the 7th of May. It brings to mind the saying... "is the glass half full or half empty..... and I think... "Am I consistent with not posting my blog regularly or am I inconsistent with posting my blog?" Hope that makes sense! Either way, here I am so tickled pink to be back. Hmmmm.... I hardly know where to start. Thinking back, I have practised my still life photography almost everyday for the past couple of months. I've also been building my Instagram account with posting everyday, being inspired by so many amazing and talented friends on IG, commenting and liking and just totally enjoying my IG time. I did take a break for the past week and a half while being on vacation and I am definitely looking forward to getting back to posting. It is with delight that I announce my new logo and website and have now added a homepage instead of opening with my blog. I am also all excited about introducing my still life photography and basic photography workshops on my site. After doing a few practise runs last spring that went very well... I am now ready to begin providing them on a more regular basis. Well let me move forward here and stop rambling on.... here are a few favourite photos taken since early May. Love all the blue in this photo... we have had this doily for over 40 years and it's still in great shape.... the little spoon was a gift from a very special friend, who is Dutch, of course and what a nice neighbour we have... he said to take whatever I wanted from his hydrangea bush. Jim made me a table for my still life photography.... the table top drops in and I can change it for other table tops. It works great! He keeps saying the handle on the fake drawer (whoops, I let the secret out) is crooked, but I love it just the way it is. I love simplicity in a photograph.... I had taken this photo is a very small space with side lighting then added a few of Denise Love's textures. Every year Donna Milburn Photography is one of the sponsors for The Children's Wish Foundation Princess Tea Fundraiser. Beautiful decorations, fancy sandwiches and desserts, little girls dressed in their pretty princess dresses and boys dressed in their pirate regalia, amazing volunteers, entertainers, a mobile spa, arts & crafts all help to make this spectacular event a huge success. On each table is a gorgeously decorated teapot with flowers... definitely something special to photograph. I was very happy with the props I used, the composition and lighting for this photo... and yes I ate the cookies.... they were quite yummy!
